BLC Chem-MAP Announced as ZDHC Accepted Certification Standard for Chemicals in the Supply Chain

Published 1st January 2018

Chem-MAP is a new, innovative process for verifying MRSL compliance of supplied chemical formulations to ZDHC conformance level 1 and level 3.

Chem-MAP has been developed by BLC Leather Technology Centre Ltd. in partnership with Peter Gregory from Vert-Tex and works through a preventative approach which ensures that materials and products are made using responsible chemistry. To achieve this, Chem-MAP works with all organisations in the supply chain including chemical companies, manufacturers, brands and retailers.

How does the BLC Chem-MAP Programme engage the materials supply chain?

The BLC Chem-MAP Programme is split into four divisions:

c-MAP for chemical companies to gain ZDHC approved certification through Chem-MAP

Become a ZDHC level 1 or level 3 approved chemical supplier through the completion of Chem-MAP audit and testing modules on the c-MAP route. c-MAP supports verification of chemicals for manufacture and production on the ZDHC Gateway.
