BLC have recently purchased two new pieces of state-of-the-art analytical laboratory equipment used in the provision of chemical testing services for Chem-MAP®, MRSL testing, RSL testing and analytical testing. The new analytical equipment will enable BLC to further broaden the range of chemicals we can test for and help to maintain our commitment to deliver fast, reliable data to our customers.
Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS)
BLC are pleased to announce the installation of a new state of the art Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS) triple quad system (QQQ), which is a valuable tool for the analysis of semi- and non-volatile compounds and will complement the existing LC-MS instrument at BLC.
LC-MS is an analytical technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry. LC-MS-QQQ is a powerful technique used for many applications, which has very high sensitivity and selectivity.
Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS)
Another piece of analytical laboratory equipment BLC have purchased includes an additional Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS), an analytical technique used for elemental determinations. An ICP-MS combines a high-temperature ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) source with a mass spectrometer. The ICP source converts the atoms of the elements in the sample to ions. These ions are then separated and detected by the mass spectrometer.
